WHAT TF IS BOROUGH?

Barnsley based, born & bred, Borough was born from a necessity to create. We set up as a collective in 2022, working out of bedrooms, cafes and off kitchen floors.

We set up our studio in the Town centre in August of 2024, subsequently began publishing select works, working on FOTO, Barnsley’s first photography festival and working closely with a network of local artists.

Our ambition is to facilitate making, connection and belonging in Barnsley by platforming local artists, working with local and regional institutions and offering services wherever we can.
